PAL to NTSC Conversions

Not all video is created equally. Check this link for a list of formats that are played in different countries throughout the world.

Our duplication bay has a standards conversion sub set consisting of a PAL, SECAM, NTSC (US Standard) VHS recorder/player, three VHS NTSC recorder/players, a Mini DV, DVCAM PAL/NTSC recorder, an "S" in and out converter box with a timebase corrector and a PAL/NTSC high resolution monitor. The timebase and "S" references mean that the converter box has a high quality connector and a means to add extra stabilization to the image while it changes formats.

OK but what does this really mean? It means that if you bought a VHS tape while abroad but cannot play it here because the picture is weird and the sound is funny, we can copy it onto a tape that will play in this country. It also means that if you want to send a video abroad you can have it copied here for playback there. With our PAL NTSC Monitor, we can check the duplication in its new format.

Not only that, it means that if you have a mini DV tape when you rented a camera while abroad, we can convert your PAL mini DV tape to an NTSC min DV tape for you to play on your home equipment.

But wait!! Can Central Image create DVDs that play in different countries? Yes!! And for that to happen we first would first convert your piece into a PAL standard, import it into my computer onto a PAL timeline and create a PAL edit. We would then have to compress it to M2 files and create a PAL DVD that could play on DVD players other than Region 1 (US Standard) DVD players. (You need to create DVDs from source material, PAL or NTSC, that will play in the part of the world in which you want it to be seen.) Call or email for further explanation and pricing.
